The treasure hall
“The outside of this great estate might have clued one in on the wealth of the Mivera family, but it was the inside that truly revieled the origin of this wealth, and the impressive history of this family.
Miveria was not only a wealthy mare. But a wealthy mare who hailed from a long line of experienced Archiologists, explorers, treasure hunters and adventurers. All of whom had added some piece to the impressive collection that decorated the halls.
The biggest of these halls being a treasure room in its own right, filled to the brim with a wide and varried collection of artifacts that my ignorant mind was merely imensely impressed with. Had I actually had any deeper Antiquarian knolege, my mind would surely hav been blown to the point risking heart-failure. So heavy was the sight of all this lore and history, that it ought to make any art collector or museum director soil their trousers with envy.
The heavy atmosphere in the room was amplified by a central fireplace, so big that a pony could walk upright inside it. Yet what truly drew the eyes in the midst of all this tressure was the enormous portrait that hung regally from its position above the fireplace. It depicted an elderly, sovereign looking gentlepony, with the most majestic mustache I have ever seen.
Yet. It was not an old painintg. In fact, short of ourselves, it must have been the most modern piece in the whole room. And it was clear from the way Mivera looked uppon it, applying its posture as her own as she stood in front of the centerpiece like a nobel of the mannor ought to do, that the connection between her and this precious lord of the manor was one as deep as only blood can go…”
Personal note: Aaaaaugh … too much stuff. This took ages to draw, Every. Little. Detail. Im such a Detail Whore. Yet it was necessary to properly sell the overwhelming sight of this room.
also: color will be taking a backseat for the duration of this comic, both as a stylistic choice, and as an excuse i once made to get these pages out faster.
