In that moment, Twilight is having her entire existence validated by the pony who is most precious to her, her princess.
Heaven could not compare to what Twilight is feeling as Celestia sings.
Yes, she’s as symbol.
And does being a princess actually means she absolutely will be royalty, like, right now?
Or just that she has a very special place in society? Maybe she’ll remain in ponivile to spread the power of friendship, or to continue her studies on its magic and such, who knows.
We’ll have to wait and see.
I see it so that the whole alicorn business was a team effort. Twilight would have never ever in her entire life achieved alicornhood on her own just like Starswirl never did. And i´m pretty sure he might have been an even better magician than Twi.
Only with her friends and their friendship she became an alicorn.
Celestia made her a princess cause with this she had shown what she had learned the past 3 seasons just like she had sung in her ballad in that magical realm.
It´s like a gift, a graduation of her title as student you could say.
Though with her being a princess she´s not a mentor like Celestia is, she´s an “inspiration”, something like a paragon. A little unicorn who almost failed the entrance test and who became an alicorn not through hard studies on magic books or having lots of magical power but due her friends and everything they had experienced together.
With the princess title Celestia made this basically a true “fairy tale” for everypony in Equestria. Like the impossibile can be possible and the unexpected can happen, but not alone and through sheer power/talent/etc, but together and in friendship.
Incredible.
Even a /mlp/ like it.
It still ruffles my ridges. :X Twilight, the Heroic Alicorn? Awesome. Princess Twilight Sparkle? eeuuuugh.
Where’s that post where the writers say that princess is a title that’s EARNED in mlp?
but it didn’t make her another pwetty pwincess, it just made her special. The thing that rubs me the wrong way is the title. I honestly DO NOT see why they had to make her a Princess in the show. Make her an alicorn, fine. Make princess twilight toys, fine. Give her a big congratulatory ceremony, fine. Just don’t call her royalty.
I’ll be honest, ponies have really made me a lot less cynical.
