Why these 3 images are much darker in the thumbnails than they are originally?
 
I suspect Derpibooru uses 2 very diff settings for thumbnails compared to the actual piece they’ll compress and something, resulting in an incompatibility. I’ve seen the same problem when opening the pics with XnView MP.
 
However, I think I’ve found a fix to the problem on GIMP’s end (for XnView MP, at least), but if I uploaded the fixed ones they’d have to be either replacing these or deleted, both of which are manually done by staff on request, and I’m really dreading the delete one.

Hm. Does that means that Uotapo didn’t like the Movie? Was it that bad, or you just didn’t like it?
No idea about Uotapo, but I really liked ‘The Movie’ and were very excited to see it. Sure it had its flaws, but nothing that’d make me recommend against it. A quality movie for every pony fan (Brony or otherwise), to put it simply.
Why do you ask ?
I think you misunderstood.
The movie that is told in this picture is Demon Slayer: something train (too lazy to google full name).
And, from this picture, I get that author didn’t like it, for some reason? And I would like to know that reason. For example - Goblin Slayer movie was so much worse then show, that I’m afraid this is the same case here.
And The Movie you are talking is propably MLP: The Movie, which is it’s own basket of different opinions.
 
Ohhh. Yeah, we were talking about totally diff things. I guess I shouldn’t had assumed since I couldn’t see much relevance between ‘MLP: The Movie’ and this pic anyway.

Not bad, but here’s a tip to avoid all the aliasing on the text. When you take it into your paint program, resize the image to at least double the resolution. Paint out the Japanese, put in your text, then resize it back down to the original dimensions. The text will be naturally anti-aliased and look much better.
 
Umm, how upscaling would succceed without destroying the pic ? Apart from the very experimental methods, nothing has worked that could upscale a raster without damaging it.
