Though I did not understand the workings of the ritual. Nor how it was supposed to save Mivera’s fate. Glyph chipped in, and helped explain it as best she could.
 
We could not cure Mivera of the call of Nuguth. All sucumb to it, as the call is ethernal. An ethernal hunger that can never be satisfied. And all mouths connected to this hunger is cursed to feed ethernally, or be devoured themselves.
 
Its a fools game. As the mouths will either sucumb to the hunger. Or – through their sacrifices to nuguth grow large enough to consume their world – And then sucumb, as ther will be nothing more for them to feed uppon in the endless void.
 
For the ethernal mouth cares not how well you served him, It craves only sustinence, and care not from whence it came. Not even from its own champions. Not even should the sustinence come from itself.
 
Thats how the feedback loop was created. For as the mouths feed uppon their maker, all that is devouered is returned to the maker. As such, unlike untold worlds that have suffered the ultimate fate at the mouths of Núgúth. The great old one himself can never truly be devouered. As such, The mouths can feed ethernally.
 
This was to be her mothers fate. as it had been her mothers before her. But she escaped it through her desperate gamble. but when the gamble yielded no fruit, the cycle had to continue.
 
And so instead her father would be one of these eternal vores. Through the same ritual that had ones cursed their family bloodline he bound himself to share in their fate. It was a sacrifice he made for his daughter. For the truth about the curse of Nuguth was, that every child born from a champion will inheriet the curse. As such, whenever the original champion is consumed by the hunger, the next generation will start to feel the pull through the hole that their parents left behind.
 
*This blood relation was the key to, if not the salvation, then the sulotion. For through this blood-bond, they discovered that they could set up a host by proxy. A ritual that turned the host into the ancor point for Núgúths pull. *
 
In short: the call of Núgúth would have to go though the parent before reaching the child. But since the father would be forever gouging on the feedback loop. The daughter was, essentially, saved.
 
*It had to be a parent though. The next in line on the pulling chains to nuguths call, as the call does not skipp links. And with her mother gone. Her father had made the ultimate sacrifise. Giving himself to nuguth freely. In the vauge hope that his daughter, or even his grandchildren or great grandchildren, would one day be saved from the hunger. *
 
*For as it stood. With the calling of the hunger now going through father, so would all future links in the chain down the Miverian family line. *
