Yes but half of what Rusty said to Fireweed was true and the other half wasn’t true if you go back to the previous pages and see that the lumberjacks where being jerks after they recognize Tempest, selfishly asked Thistle and Lullaby if they are in league with the so called villain which she isn’t anymore and Thistle try to reason with them that she is not anymore and they don’t want any trouble.
 
Tempest only attack them cause they attack first after they refuse to stop and leave her alone, believeing she doesn’t have her gear, can’t cast spells and also upset Lullaby which cause Tempest to go Ursa Major mode to teach them a lesson by giving them a minor beating but let them live and hope they learn their lesson.
 
Tempest only attack Rusty after he kidnapped Lullaby, blackmail Thistle to poison Tempest or Lullaby pays the price, hurt Lullaby for fighting back with a belt, threaten her life with a knife after Thistle threw the “poison” in his face to teach him a lesson.
 
Thistle was only concern about Lullaby’s well being and needed Tempest’s help to save her and let Rusty be to face the consequences of his actions or so Thistle thinks.

Didn’t Fireweed say Rusty told him Tempest beat up some lumberjacks who were trying to protect Thistle, and that she (Thistle) didn’t lift a hoof to help him when Tempest was torturing him? Because that was all true.

He lied to Fireweed about that he was “protecting” Lullaby and Thistle from Tempest who “attack” them which we know that’s not how it happened and omitted the important part from Thistle’s letter about calling off the revenge plot nonsense, spare Tempest’s life and give her a chance of redemption.

What did Rusty lie about?

dSana, I am hoping in a few future pages that Thistle will still set things right to regain Tempest’s trust in her again and still protect Tempest from her old families revenge, restore their relationship, both she and Tempest still protect Lullaby and still be a family again.
 
Thistle will finally convince and even scold her little brother Fireweed that Tempest deserves a chance of redemption and is sorry for what happen to Winter Rye even though Tempest was indirectly involved of his death and that Rusty deceived and lied to Fireweed about what really happen between him and Tempest.

It’s part of her character when she’s threatened with physical violence.

Hum. I may have been wrong. Maybe Tempest will face an actual threat. As well, asking “Is that all?” just screams for a good slapping down. I know she’s one of the good guys, but saying phrases like that, with that cockiness deserves immediate literary repercussions.
