Diamond Tiara started the problem since Cheerilee made a foolish mistake of choosing her as the new chief of the Foal Free Press.

And that’s Diamond Tiara’s fault by forcing the CMC to do more gossip on their friends and families against their will or she’ll blackmail them to get what she wants cause she did not care about anypony’s feelings.

Reluctantly I understand why everypony in Ponyville where upset and disappointed with the CMC cause they had a right to refuse to talk to, listen to, scold and shun the CMC cause they mistakenly feared the CMC will get more juicy secrets for their gossip which that’s not the CMC’s true intentions cause the trio was trying to ask for their help against Diamond Tiara.

The CMC had to think of something to outsmart Diamond Tiara for abusing her job as chief of the Foal Pre Press and regain everypony in Ponyville’s trust in the CMC again was to secretly write an apology letter in the newspaper article without Diamond Tiara’s knowledge til it’s to late for her to have her selfish way.

Everypony finally slowly come down after reading the apology article and accepted the CMC’s apology while Diamond Tiara got her comeuppance when Cheerilee realize her mistake by striping away the little filly from her position as chief of the Foal Free Press.

I hated when the CMC were treated like absolute garbage and wouldn’t even let them explain why they did the gossip. If only the others and Diamond Tiera were scolded from their actions.

I wasn’t referring to the official comics but more of fan comics. Also, the official comics have been working on the whole “stop making every character a piece of shit” for awhile now.
 
You can tell me what happens. I won’t mind.

You say you don’t read fanfics, but I really recommend Runaway Crusaders by MontyCS.

YES. I mean, why have the Mane Six be the reasonable ones when it can be just as “funny” to have them see the Crusaders as total pariahs like the rest of the town? Apples stick together my ass.
 
I seriously can’t believe we never got a comic (its possibly a fanfic but I don’t read those) about the Mane Six apologizing to the CMC for being complete pieces of shit.

The whole episode was about the hypocrisy of sensationalist media. Everyone was in the wrong. The CMC may have been blackmailed but the blackmail was nothing but what they were also subjugating everyone else in town to.

People say the Crusaders have no ground to stand on because they kept going around asking for another story (after being blackmailed into doing so), but the others have even less ground. Not only did they clearly enjoy Gabby Gums before it was their names being slandered, but the way they act in response to finding out who it is just makes them look even worse, especially since they don’t know the full story and are just making blind assumptions.
 
They’re response is less: “It was them? But why?”
 
And more this: “So it was them all along. Should’ve known…”
 
Kinda gives the impression that deep down they’ve always had the assumption that the Crusaders are bad eggs, and this was all they needed to solidify that belief.
 
They could’ve asked the Crusaders one simple question, “Why?”.
 
But they didn’t. They took the easy way out and essentially used the CMC as scapegoats to avoid having to confront a problem they themselves were part of, even indirectly.

One of my least favorite episodes ever, if not my number one most hated episode. This episode quickly made me go from not hating any ponies to “On second thought, fuck Diamond Tiara.” Everypony’s attitudes in this episode sucked.
