Well, yes, but personally I think the Fan Animation “Folly of Celestia” explains this concept better
I think it could be better that with age she is no longer so powerful, thus justifying too much why Twilight should take the position as princess in addition to not seeing herself as a psychopath who really does not care about the status of her people in favor of teaching a lesson to her heir.
Maybe Celestia should’ve just kicked Chrysalis in the teeth.

you know that toilet sound your hear in that scene I used to think as a kid that all American Toilets made that sound because of hearing it in Animated Movies, Comedy Movies and Cartoons and it gave me a theory that toilets depending in which country their in all make a different flush sound due to comparing the flush sound of my childhood home toilet (British) and that Flush sound effect
