Tanzanite is a very charming, outgoing, and flashy guy who loves to showoff. But, when is was younger he was more quiet and reserved since he was so different. He was bullied a lot because he was a hybrid and he had very big ears. Which he still has now and he is still self conscious about them. But, a certain filly named Ginger Gold saved him one day at school when some bullies were beating him up. That is when he tried to have tougher skin and not let anypony get to him. Now everypony loves him and he is known as a charmer in Ponyville. But, the mare who has his heart is Ginger Gold the mare with a heart of gold. He can’t tell is she has any feelings for him (which she does). He also has some family drama with his Mom, Rarity. She wants him to be a fashion designer like her. But, he doesn’t want to be one. He doesn’t really know what he wants to do which is something that he struggles with.

Tanzanite is very close friends with Hothead. They bonded over being hybrids and they are both very good with the ladies.
 
Tanzanite is also very close friends with Ginger Gold. Even if he can never be in a romantic relationship with her he still wants to be friends with her. He cherishes his friendship with her. Tanzanite would do anything for her.
