Yeah, some dubstep is good, (most is shit though) but we need more Vinyl with house or drum n’ bass or electroswing, just something else.

Tempo is the speed of the song’s beat. Usually measured in beats per minute. Dubstep is technically around 140 beats per minute, but it’s played at half tempo, so it’s more like 70.
 
Melody is, “a linear succession of musical tones that the listener perceives as a single entity” (wiki entry, not really good at explaining this stuff myself).
 
Bass is the really deep sounding notes. In Electronic music it’s meant to make the song feel more “full”.

It’s basically some slow tempo kick-snare-kick-snare jargon that focuses heavily on extremely distorted bass rather than melody.

I have absolutely no knowledge of music and its trends/styles, so could someone please explain what dubstep is to me? All I’ve gathered is that it’s a “club” type of music and that you’ll get made fun of for listening to it on laptop speakers. The wikipedia article is filled with music jargon that I’m equally clueless about.

I think she’d just have a general passion for music in general. :T Maybe a preference towards newer styles and techno in the most vague definition, but I think anything with a solid beat would appeal to her.

Personally, while I don’t hate how she is placed as a ‘dubstep only’ DJ, I will say I could see her as liking more than just dubstep (like, most of the Electronica genre).

It’s because of the wubstep.

There is that, its all about the collective decision we make as a fandom, the default interaction between characters and their personalities are all defined in this way i guess.  
Is it a social thingie? I cant say, I’m a, mostly, technical person (math, physics, programming), not a sociologist :)

I concur with sirvancelot, except I like dubstep.

I think it’s fun, and I don’t even like dubstep. But sure, I always think of her as just a DJ, not a dubstep exclusive one. : )
