Says who?
…Seriously?
Why has Moot not brought a decent mod to make them stop being retarded?
Or better yet, somebody get Lauren to scold them like the spoiled children they are.
the Riviera is like the shittiest hotel in Vegas run by people who have absolutely no idea to do customer service
literally the only thing preventing them from closing is the fact that there’s like three unfinished hotels in Vegas and no one has the money to implode it and put up another hotel
It’s just going to be pointless fan theories that do nothing but create drama.
@gg666
Never change, /mlp/.
and you have any links for the liability thing?
They are indeed, as you put it, the absolute most rabid “Faustfags.” There are some people that refuse to watch anything beyond the first four episodes of the series since those are the ones Lauren directly wrote.
And yes, they do love to portray her as hating the fandom/Hasbro/the current state of the show. It’s some sort of weird ownership, I guess.
Go down the street and ask any random Joe schmoe what a brony is, chances are they will have no clue what you’re talking about. For as much we’re known across the internet, we’re not exactly “mainstream”. As far as the general public is concerned MLP is a cartoon for girls, and enjoyed only by girls.
Unless there’s a significant drop in sales, Hasbro doesn’t care one way or the other. Yes they have an image to keep up, but we’re not exactly hurting it anymore than Transformers fans are. Parents will continue to by MLP dolls and other products no matter what we do.
Unicon was a mess, but outside of our little bubble, no-one knows or cares about it
And furries have no room to talk ever since the furaffinity banner thing.
Well, that was what I thought too. And in fact, that very thing was pointed out to /mlp/.
Their response delved into their crazy conspiracy theories about us being a bunch of sheep content to be at the mercy of corporate wolves, kind of like that dude in that movie who got violently hazed and had to respond “Thank you, sir. May I have another?”
I guess they can’t understand that not everyone is as demanding as they are.
They really are Faustfags, aren’t they? And yet they paint her as a blithering alcoholic driven to drink from associating with us.
As for me, I’m just glad we got a decent comic book out of the deal, and soon we’ll be getting high-quality plushies.
Have a backbone and shake any “hate” off.
A secondary audience is a secondary audience. They wouldn’t show ratings for adults 18+ if they didn’t want to cater to them as well.
They don’t mind us, they just don’t want us to interfere with toy sales. In fact, they realized that if they make more toys like the show, they’ll sell more to this new audience.
Too many chicken littles with supposed connections in this fandom if you ask me.
@Fipse
This.
And that is why Hasbro makes so many Brony toys, comics for Bronys etc…
I really don’t want to bring “her” up. But there have been more than a few people on /mlp/ and Equestria Daily pointing out that it actually isn’t in Hasbro’s best business interest to keep us around. For exactly the reason you point out: In America, Men that associate with things normally intended for young girls are automatically suspect.
If you were the parent of a young girl, would you want your daughter watching a series enjoyed by people like us? Hasbro’s job is to satisfy their investors. To do that, they need to sell toys. To do that, they need to get parents to buy those toys. We are unintentionally a roadblock to that goal, because NO ONE wants to be associated with us, except for a few people on the show’s staff, for some reason. Hasbro would probably rather we just disappeared forever. Those executives are probably cursing the day they hired Lauren to revive the brand, since doing so brought us in, and we’re nothing but a liability to them.
We are so hated that even the furries look down on us. That’s not a good position to be in.
I’m not an /mlp/fag or a hater. I love the show and the fanworks. But I can’t take being hated by anyone.
Oh, and /mlp/ never knows what it wants. They want to write off the entire cast as assholes now, but they’de be whinging about “WHY DON’T THEY LOVE US ANYMORE” within a week if they got their wish.
I’ve been pretty neutral about /mlp/, but now, fuck them.
Tara was also sick when she went to Unicon.
Everyone at this con had a reason to be pissed off. I’d be pissed too.
Of course you’d never convince /mlp/ that anyone but their waifus Faust and St. Germain are good people. They hate DeLancie because he was involved in the documentary and insist Faust was somehow roped into it when in fact she wholeheartedly joined the production.
I’m not really sure how much to believe. All of it seems pretty plausible. (granted Tara had a pretty good reason to be ticked off; she missed her son’s karate tournement for a gig she didn’t even get paid for; I’d be pissed off too)
Spaghetti is supposed to be actually socially awkward experiences, but has become in this fandom an insult commonly said to make fun of people acting in ways which a particular person would see as “weird” or “autistic.”
It’s mainly used by people who are incredibly ashamed of their hobby and detest any sort of public display of enjoyment in order to convince themselves that actively trying to be social and legitimately enjoy the show is associated with people that are “creepy.”
Hasbro can only do so much, and VAs are still booked for other fan conventions. They also have an easy money source in this new audience, they just can’t mention them very much because Americans automatically associate adult males liking media designed for young girls with a suspicious eye.
And it was also pointed out that /mlp/ posts a lot of bullshit.
Well, there were two threads on Reddit; I read both to get a different (saner) perspective.
Much as I hate to say it, /mlp/ did make some good points. EQD was being eerily quiet about it, almost like they wanted to pretend it didn’t happen so as not to annoy Hasbro into banning staff from all future cons. Even here there wasn’t much talk aside from two comment threads that didn’t get very far.
It was also pointed out that Hasbro wants the VA’s to only go to SDCC. And also that Hasbro see us as a tremendous liability and would sooner be rid of us.
…And what do they mean by “spaghetti”? That was the part I couldn’t figure out.
Anon is sometimes a pretty cool guy.
