On what grounds would Luster Dawn being the personal student of Princess Twilight make either of those assumptions true? It’s quite possible that Luster Dawn is the personal pupil of BOTH of Equestria’s foremost experts on the magic of Friendship. She could well benefit from concurrent, but separate, viewpoints, experiences and wisdom on the matter. Just because Luster is the personal protege of Twilight, it does not follow that Starlight is in anyway thrusting her away or not passing any of her own hard-won knowledge. Hell, there’s even potential headcanon that Luster felt she was being pushed away or forcibly recruited by Princess Bookhorse, since all parties involved have a habit of awkwardness and being headstrong, and things need to be sorted out (fic writers, get cracking).

Trixie being trans is one of those headcanons that I’m agnostic about. If she is, cool; if not, great.  
Luster Dawn being Starlight Glimmer’s daughter…now there’s an idea that gets my blood boiling. It just reflects poorly on Starlight, because it implies that either she learned nothing about friendship, or she was a lazy inept parent who never bothered passing on her wisdom to her children.

I usually ignore them, although if people are very protective about given  
headcanon it’s usually quite entertaining to mock it a little bit.

I don’t have that much of an ego to think that I can stop anything.  
It’s undeniably your right to follow whatever trends you and anyone else wants.  
Just like for me and other people to ignore those trends, or just have little fun
