No, the concept of faith doesn’t apply to works of fiction. No one’s claiming Trans Trixie is a real-world fact that objectively exists. That would be absurd, none of the ponies exist IRL. They’re simply stating that she’s their version of a fictional character.

The goal isn’t to make others accept the headcanon of Trixie being trans, so much as it is to remind pony fans that trans people exist, and are part of the fandom, too. Making a fan-favorite character like Trixie into a trans pony helps with the visibility.

Making a declarative statement as boldly as this image does implies a pretty high level of conviction. But if the only evidence you have is that the claim is unfalsifiable, does that mean you believe it… on faith?

Everyone knows that Trixie’s prefered pronouns are Trixie/Trixie/Trixie’sself.

Aren’t fan theories generally supposed to have some degree of canon support?

All a fan theory “needs” to be is not outright contradicted by canon.
Also, that a fan theory exists doesn’t mean it has to be a theory you subscribe to. Just live and let live with the people who do like it, and there won’t be a problem.
Like, I could claim that Princess Celestia is secretly an amputee with a really convincing prosthetic leg, but I wouldn’t, because there’s zero evidence of that.

If you want to claim that theory, go ahead. I’m not gonna stop you.
I probably won’t agree with it and decide to take it up myself, but you’re totally free to see Celestia how you want.

say who?! I say she lesbian! :0

Plot twist: trans women (and mares) can be lesbians, so I don’t see the conflict there.

In that case Toriyama didn’t say that a character from Dragon Ball is trans.
Lauren Faust in the other hand, says that one character from season 1 is trans. One option is caramel, but she/he changes from male to female, or female to male constantly in colors. Sapphire Shores only by her physical. Trixie has the eyes of a male in her first appearances, a narcissistic character stereotyped on males, and she was a male before they changed her a female.

I’m mixed on it, JK Rowling calling Dumbledore gay after the fact, may or may not be evidenced but she prolly did it for attention. I can’t say that Lauren said that for attention, so in this case I don’t think its a retcon.

she do said the pony she loves is starlight. so is more posible that she is les and there is not much clue about being trans. goku was a girl in the concept of toriyama that doesnt make him a trans character.

Sort of seconding, don’t agree with your wording. Being trans or not does nothing for the character; arguments for representation are for the audience, show, or narrative, but not what makes Trixie, Trixie.

There is some very old ‘Word of God’ from the show creators back in Season 1 that the character that would become Trixie was initially concieved of as male.

But since that fact is both obscure and very old, I don’t know if that’s truly why this Trixie is trans idea has become trendy recently.
