As much as I would like that, won’t happen. There’s been no lead up to anything like it, and I think that’s the sort of thing that would require several episodes to introduce.
 
As well, Trixie is a character archetype that can’t be made a protagonist, not without a whole lot of character focus and development that, honestly, doesn’t fit inside a show like FiM. She’s just not a great role model; she’s basically Rainbow Dash without the loyalty bit, and I can’t see them having to of the same on the cast.
 
Lord knows what they’ll actually do, but I’d bet against both Twilight getting outright substituted and Trixie returning as anything more than a gag character or recurring minor roles ala Mayor Mare.
