So we got an official introduction of Pipp Petals and Zipp Storm, so I returned to Gen5 to draw them.
 
Getting their colors close to the official one still bit of a trouble, cos of the 3D stuff, so I guess I’ll be winging it for now (pun not intended XD).
 
So I decided to slightly change how I draw pegasus characters for Gen5, incorporating elements from my pony redesigns, such as a cheek and tail feathers.
 
What I found interesting about their design that Pipp has different wing style from Zipp. Not so sure to mimick different bird wings (like Pipp’s wings kinda remind me of a wing of a dove) or it supposed to be like a wing of a younger pegasus. Guess we need to wait and see. Until than I need to figure out how draw them properly in my style and how to do the colors them too.
 
Also, lore wise I found interesting that Pipp was introduced as a princess (with golden horseshoe and “tiara”) , but Zipp wasn’t. Wonder if it was just a foresight on Hasbro’s part or there’s going to be a reason for it in the movie. Like royalty status works differently or Zipp didn’t want it/it was taken away from her for a reason. Well, color me intrigued.^^
