Despite being injured, Blood Edge remains on the offensive. He swings his longsword, and slices the slime for one damage.
 
While her companions are fighting, Opaline begins to cast another spell. Her horn flashes brightly, and a burst of bubbling light heals Blood Edge back to full health.
 
Before the slime can make another move, Tailkicker jumps in for the kill. She slashes the foe with her shortsword, dealing one damage. The slime is defeated, and explodes into four small magic orbs, which are then absorbed by each of the ponies.
 
Dawn Break: “You have done well in defeating the slime. Everypony gains one experience point. Congratulations, Blood Edge and Tailkicker, you are now level two.
 
Tailkicker, your maximum health increases to eight, your maximum magic increases to four, and you learn the spell Electric Power, which is a passive spell that restores one magic point upon dealing damage.”
 
Moonflower: “Cool! But I don’t got any spells that use magic points.”
 
Sea Swirl: “Not yet, but you’ll get one on the next level.”
 
Dawn Break: “Mhm. As for Blood Edge, your maximum health increases to four, your maximum magic increases to four, and you learn the spell Masochism, which is a passive spell that restores one magic point upon taking damage.”
 
Sweet Biscuit: “Wow… So, another battle like this one, then I feel like we’ll be ready to take on something bigger. What do you girls think?”
 
Sea Swirl: “Hey, I’m still fighting, here!”
 
Sea Swirl rolls a seventeen.
 
Sea Swirl: “Phew.”
 
Dawn Break: “Whirlpool successfully disentangles herself from the thorny bush of shame. Combat has ended.”
