The moment Wind Sprint learned that her mother was dating someone, she was convinced that Clear was trying to replace her real father. Stormbreaker, with his busy and ever-upwards climbing career, wasn’t always able to spend time with his daughter. But whenever he did, he spoiled her rotten and bragged about her to his friends, making her want to grow up to be just like him. It wasn’t much of a surprise that Wind Sprint had no idea why her parents split, or how bad their relationship had been before they broke up. So Wind immediately detested Quibble Pants, simply because she didn’t want another parent.
Quibble Pants knew how Wind Sprint felt about him, and he regularly questioned if his relationship with Clear Sky was best for both of her and her daughter. He adored Clear but knew that if he acted like a father to Wind, she would shut down completely. So he tried to focus on acting cool and into everything Wind Sprint liked, even though Clear Sky reminded him that all she wants is for Quibble to be himself. After some help from Rainbow Dash and Clear Sky having a long talk with her daughter that Quibble wasn’t here to replace her father, Wind Sprint started to appreciate Quibble, even with all his nerdiness.
By the time Clear Sky and Quibble Pants got married, Wind Sprint and Quibble were like two peas in a pod. He always managed to be there for her, even if he didn’t understand what Wind Sprint was talking about or doing when it came to sports. But he was there for every kiddie league practice, every sports event Wind wanted to go to, and every time Stormbreaker didn’t end up showing for his day with her. And when Clear Sky mentioned to her daughter that she would be expecting a baby, Sprint seemed just as hesitant as she did when Quibble started dating her mom. She enjoyed being the center of attention and wasn’t sure she wanted to share the spotlight, until Quibble mentioned that once the baby got old enough, they could start their own buckball team. So Wind Sprint was all for it, especially once Clear Sky gave birth to a unicorn. Unfortnately for Wind, her little brother was just as athletically inclined as their father, which was not at all.
