They were created for this song so as not to overuse Ace, Teddy and Lancer in the animation. There were boys also made up for Roll Around The Clock who were never named and then disappeared.

I don’t know, I sometimes see some “human poses,” (Especially, from Pinkie Pie) and seen them pick up things with their hooves, or fetlocks to in the current G4 cartoon.

And now we see the importance of that “no human poses” rule. I hope the current generation sticks with that, although it must be hard to write around.

I was watching some clips on YouTube (you know, because I’m a masochist)and i was thoroughly disgusted and wierded out by how………human they acted.

No no, I mean
what’s the point of making them horses if you’re just going to stand them up bipedally and have them use their forelegs as arms for literally everything they do? That was one of the things I liked about FiM: you see a lot of ponies using their mouths or magic or otherwise keeping their hooves on the ground. It takes more effort to write and animate that way

Comparatively? Yeah. This was early ’90s animation, remember — it was actually better than most other toons on TV at the time.
