Well how did things Work before Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies, Clearly the MLP world is Synthetic with Forgotten History.

I think the only answer lye with Alicorns, they set up there world; but lost there Power, and fragmented in the 3 Pony Types at some point

So it’s a Post Alicorn World; with a few Synthetic and Natural Alicorns left.
