Nah, it’s not that out there with Mr. Krabs. He is Mr. Krabs.
Part of me prefers to think of that episode as non-canon. Selling someone else’s soul is a bit much even for Krabs to me.

Well, most of his central episodes involve money, which is why he’s always painted as this selfish crustacean, most notably the episode about his first dime and one where he sells Spongebob for 62 cents.
He has some really heartwarming moments though. My favorite is when Mr Krabs lets Spongebob sleep in his house without any question or argument. Although I can’t remember which episode it is from.
