I didn’t really like the original Celestia design I did. I tried matching it with the sun but also added roses to her since she was a goddess of creation in my AU. In this, she’s got a dark heart. She masks her manipulative and dark personality with light magic and kindness to those below and above her. The only one who knows about her true self is her sister, Moon Lily AKA Princess Luna (in my AU ^^)

• Celestia’s birth took place when her mother, Cybele, created Airthren. Along with the wild life and vegetation came, Luna and Celestia.  
• Celestia got her cutie mark by using her magic to raise the sun.

• Celestia is the eldest daughter of Cybele and the older sister of Luna. When Tia and her sister were born, the universe blessed them both with gifts to help balance the planet their mother called Airthren. Luna was born with the ability to lower the moon, and Celestia was born with the ability to raise the sun. After discovering the magical potential the young alicorn possessed, she couldn’t help want to learn more about her abilities and what she can do with them. Luna, being the wiser ruler, expressed her concern for her sister and reminded her of the importance of her duties. Luna wanted nothing but to protect Airthren and help it in it’s growth. Celestia, on the other hand, was greedy and self centered. She wanted to make herself more powerful, even more powerful than her own mother. This caused a rift between the two sisters. They argued day and night for countless decades. Once Cybele had started creating her own form of life, the equines, Celestia became distant with not only her sister, but her mother too. She swore to take Airthren for herself and take the equines that lived upon it. Celestia used the dark magic she studied and experimented with, on Cybele, turning her into a literal stone cold statue. Once hearing of her mother’s death, Luna had finally snapped. She had gone into a rage and used every bit of magic she had to protect not only Airthren, but to protect herself. Luna used her magic against Celestia. The magic had transformed her into a powerful and angelic being of light. Though legends say Princess Luna transformed into Nightmare Moon, to rule over Airthren and drown out the sun’s light with her darkness, she was transformed not to take over, but to protect the world from Celestia’s reign. Luna fought with everything she had, though it wasn’t enough. The dark magic Celestia had created was overpowering and eventually took hostage of Luna. Draining her of her alicorn magic and banishing her the moon for one thousand years. Those who were alive to witness the battle of the goddesses, were brain washed and manipulated by Celestia. Erasing each and every one of their memories and replaced it with false sense of kindness and reality.
