You just proved your bias, even the most “good” natured person is bias. Nothing wrong with other creatures having national identities. Against this alliance, ponies are glue.

So, in other words, this entire “Equestrian Imperialism” is a bunch of bollocks circulated by those who idolize the more warlike, violent, and less civilized dragon and changeling ways.
Agreed, the ponies are tiny compared to them, and ponies were terrified of dragons and Changelings and seeing how easy it was to conquer pony kingdom, I’m convinced Garble would have turned it into a wasteland had he won. Chrysalis would have won if not for Thorax’s rebellion.
Yes they have advanced culture but that’s comparing Athenians to Spartans, Athenians despite being more enlightened, got there butts kicked by the Spartans.
@Starswirl
None of those apply to the Changelings or Dragons.
Not to mention, the vast majority of the nations who did that also were terrified of the other nations massive armies sitting on their borders that would have fucked them at the slightest provocation. Which Equestria doesn’t have.

Economic or military advantages, additional land to settle, protection under Equestrian law. Same reason it happened time after time in the human world. Deep gratitude to the princess or her closest friends for saving them from disaster. Being fed up with ruling himself—looking at you, Thorax. A desire to battle increasingly jingoistic elements in their own populace that demand war with Equestria for besmirching their racial pride in some way.

Exactly, why? I mean these creatures, especially dragons and yaks were seen in the show to have a lot of pride, there’s no way they would willingly become vassals, allies yes, vassals no.
Then it turns out the other leaders willingly became Equestria’s vassals and most of this species panic is pushed by dragon/changeling supremacists backed by Chrysalis supporters.
Thorax: Dragonlord Ember has really helped me a lot. Instead of living like a beta, I’m finally embracing my alpha side, which means taking instead of asking. And since our species needs love, I’ve come around to my mom’s way, who’s always been our hive’s role model.
Ember: And horse is literally the sweetest meat, and I’m unbelieably hungry. What, you thought we could actually get nutrients from eating gems? It’s just a symbolic representation of our gluttony and avarice. We’re still predators.

Why would they want to willingly be vassals. Like, seriously.
Drago-Changeling alliance is more than enough to crush Equestria.
