Really guys when you consider the context what they should say her “oh no twilight you’re an average pony but ehh we are in your hooves” or “meh Twilight, I think you can’t do worst than trixie” “I could have done better” “Are you sure oyu can handle this Twilight?” “No nononono first dodge thant magic blast, can’t you do anything right uh?” “i’m ashamed you even exist”  
Really they are trying to ENCOURAGE her, ya know as friens are apt to do(or expected to do)  
But i think very few of us have clear idea of what non-cynical friendship means..

In context this is pretty damn heartwarming.
