I know, that’s why I was talking specifically about the show.
However a younger audience may just be the intended 3 to 7 age range that Hasbro has always marketed toward, show and all.
MLP merch has always been aimed at a younger audience than the show is.
Over and out
Continuing in this line of speculation,i’ll advise you to not expect something like the Season 4 of FIM right away, maybe you’ll feel the first season is dumbed down, “baby stuff” but i’ll remind you that the first season of FIM had really that “preschool cartoon” feel. In other words,as with every debuting cartoon, it need time to breath,to go through some growing pains before it can start to pick up steam if everything goes well.
That’s the error fans make when they see the continuation of a series, expecting quality of the peak seasons of the previous show right away IMO
I’m talking specifically about the possibility of the animated show getting dumbed-down for a much younger audience.
Think Teen Titans Go or the newer Ben 10.
Not saying this will definitely happen with MLP, just speculating about trends with a lot of rebooted children’s media of the last ten years or so.
What ? Pretty sure G4 also had the same kind of coloring book tier merchandise
Who can say for sure?
We just have to wait and see.
Technically the storybooks and some of the merchandise are for really young kids, but that doesn’t mean the film itself will be.
Just have to watch it and see. Can’t really blame Hasbro if they do.
Though most recent rebooted animated series share the fate of pandering to a much younger audience, this might be the exception. At this stage we can only hope.
MLP has always been a children’s toy brand, this sorta content isn’t different than any other franchise annuals I used to get as a kid tbf
Not necessarily.
We’ve had children’s activity material like this for G4, as well as the previous generations.
Yes, My Little Pony has always been targeted towards little kids. But given what we’ve been told in the past, I don’t think the target audience will be any younger than what FiM’s was.
Edited because: Clarity
That’s where the moneys at.
Look at the revenue for kids content on youtube. It’s all nursery rhymes and counting videos.
Hasbro definitely wants to get in on that.
Even younger than G4
Way of the world I guess.
