The eldest child of Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Fluorescent (or Flow/Blast for short) started showing an interest in flying from a young age just like his Wanderbolt dad, and as the team’s captain he also has encouraged them to train to be the next best flyer in Equestria- and you can defiantly imagine his pride when Flow got their Cutie Mark and discovered their flying talent. Flow has exceptional natural talent, and is extremely fast- reportedly even faster than Rainbow himself. Because of Rainbow’s pushing and (somewhat accidental) attempts to mold Flow in his image, Flow has gained a disliking to the Wonderbolts and flying in general in his teen years. Rarity always tells them that they’re free to follow whatever career they are interested in, no matter what others think, despite the fact that as a unicorn Rarity has not-the-best knowledge in pegasus culture. In their current adult years Flow has grown out of their distaste for flying, but they still somewhat resent the Wonderbolts and claim that they are old-fashioned and that they’re not interested in joining. Flow has claimed they want to start their own flight group in Equestria that’ll be even better than the Wonderbolts (or the Washouts), since in modern times more creatures are involved in pony culture, and that a group with different flying creatures- like changelings, griffins, dragons and hippogriffs- could potentially make the next best Equestrian flight team. Flow has had trouble recruiting others on their teams so far though, as other creatures are less interested in show or competitive flight.
Flow spends quit a bit of time in Ponyvile, his mom Rarity’s hometown, and the hometown of his best friend Apple Blaze. They’ve known for ages, since their and Blaze’s parents know each other well. Flow has admitted to Blaze that sometimes they’re afraid that other don’t see them as their own pony, only the next Rainbow Blitz, and that they try hard to be different.
