Well. It could transform because some Tranaformers don’t have a humanoid mode before transforming into a vehicle or machine. Think back like The entire tape army of Soundwave except Rumble and Frenzy, Blaster’s tapes Ramhorn and Steeljaw, Decepticon City Titan Trypticon, and the Pteranodon-Lynx hybrid space shuttle Sky-Lynx from Transformers G1, Scorponok, Scalpel and the Lensmeter Decepticons, Devastator, Ravage, Laserbeak, and Hatchet from the live-action film series, Ratbat and Laserbeak from Transformers Animated, and Ravage, Ratbat, Laserbeak, Scorponok, Underbite, Clampdown, Springload, Quillfire, RID Kickback, Clawtrap, Crazybolt, Slicedice, Simacore, Groundpounder, Aerobolt, Tricerashot, Sawtooth, Scatterspike, and Silverhound from the Aligned Continuity.

If a Third-Party company doesn’t make some “unofficial” transforming pony to weapon figures, then they’re dropping the ball.

With transformer technology, they were able to take the leap over the obstacle as physical contact or SLR is needed to establish an emotional connection - and as revealed when Megatron demanded Starscream’s head on a platter, it allows the victim to “see” the opponent’s thoughts and feelings. This makes it possible for transformers, despite millions of years of warfare, to do something that was impossible; to understand each other. This was Sombra’s weakness; His spells that create the false personality are actually negative magic, and can be vulnerable to emotion-based magic in advanced spells. That was how Sombra was blown to smithereens by the Crystal Heart, positive magic is the antithesis of his magical existence. As Optimus said; Friendship is power that gets stronger the more friends emerge.
 
For the first time in many millions of years - the autobots and deceptions have gained an understanding of each other. The very bitter mortal enemies have gained insight into each other, and thus could put the conflict to rest as long as there is an element of understanding. That’s what Transformers’ god Primus wanted - and it’s good that Sombra did not find him, as we have seen when he possessed Scorponok.
 
By the way, it is interesting that Sombra is more like an obsessive spirit than a living being. Obviously why Twilight took him “alive” to keep him in captivity rather than try to kill him.

At least Rainbow Dash didn’t turn into an assault rifle this time…

Best we have are Mach Kick and Battle Unicorn, who got cameos in the previous series.  
And there was an unrealised plan to for a convention to do Twilight Sparkle from Battle Unicorn as well.

Just looked it up myself, but thanks for reply.

I think the term would be Battlemasters from the War for Cybertron trilogy.

Question, would they be considered Target Masters now?  
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the Rebirth arc and I haven’t read any of the IDW comic, but I don’t remember there being melee Target Masters.  
So I’m not sure or not there be a different term is used.  
Edit:Never mind just found out Battle Masters are a thing.
