It depends. 9 times out of ten it’s based on the primary colour of the cutie mark, and the rest of the time it’s based on eye colour. Sunset Shimmer’s original colour was based on her eye colour, until one of the EQG specials made it based on her cutie Mark’s colour, for example.

Given the primary colour of her cutie mark, shouldn’t it be like teal or cyan…assuming G4 magic colour rules still apply?
