I’m guessing September or October for Season 4. We won’t know till a few weeks before the new season starts.
Season 2 was so good that I think the writers have earned another chance, however I’m not particularly optimistic about Season 4. If they don’t manage to turn around the current downward trend, I might stop watching and just read the comics.
And that’s not including the recent 72-pager.
Hell, Luna showed up for 1 line in Season 1. Mentioned only once, primary character once, and showed up to deliver lines you can count on on one hand twice in S2. S3 she shows up a bit more often as neither a background character nor an important one, except S3e13 where she is a background character.
Overall, not NEARLY as many as 5/15 since her introduction with high interaction in 4 of them.
And they don’t show up all that often. Celestia is mentioned a lot, I’ll admit, but usually because of the phrase “Dear Princess Celestia”
Neither are the princess sisters.
Considering she isn’t a main character? Yeah. Kinda is.
Yeah, four out of thirteen episodes.
TOTALLY a cause for alarm.
It was primarily hands-off for the first 50 episodes, after which the executive meddling became more and more apparent. Cadance, for example, has shown up in 40% of the episodes since her introduction.
I knew from watching early Voyager that it wasn’t going to eclipse Deep Space Nine, yet I loyally tuned in every week for both it and Enterprise until the awful end…just like a majority of other Trekkies
The show was always a cash-in. That doesn’t make it a bad show, because considerable effort is being put into it. The sky isn’t falling. Whether or not Twilight is an alicorn doesnt make a difference whatsoever.
If the show keeps getting suckier, I hope the comic keeps getting more awesome. I think that that is where the fandom’s focus is going to be after a while, especially considering they will probably still be writing/printing new issues even after the show gets canceled (which will happen sooner or later, whether anyone wants to admit to it or not).

Nah,she was right there in Twilight’s coronation.I’m sure The Crystal Ponies can handle a more than a few days on their own.
That doesn’t mean they don’t need Cadence to take care of them,though.They are clearly content with their Crystal Princess.
Do you check the source? No where is there confirmation about season 4 being in December.
If Cadence has to live in the Crystal Empire to keep the Crystal Heart working, thus ensuring that all the crystal ponies don’t turn into depressed amnesiacs (and possibly freezing to death), doesn’t that… kind of make her a prisoner?
Guy in the original post is talking about this, the way all of the characters are getting bridled by life.
Maybe that’s just overthinking on my part and maybe it’s just the disaffected millennial in me talking, too, but that’s part of why I still like the show and part of what drew me to it in the first place.
