This was without a doubt the most morally compromised episode of the entire show. The justification for killing off the clones was weak AF. “They’re too annoying so they have to die.” Interesting conclusion to be reached by a supposedly enlightened utopian society.

I mean its still creepy that she was just zapping them left and right. Jokes aside, what if you left the clone alive instead the original?
Or do they don’t care because clone is just like original anyway.

It is interesting that the pony who supposedly values the power of friendship above all else had zero consideration or value towards the lives of clones. You would think elimination would have been the very last option considered instead of the very first. It seems even in the magical land of Equestria discrimination is alive and well.

This scene was really unsettling when you think about it. There was that headcannon going around where real pinkie got sent to the mirror pool. Which is a very real possibility considering how easy it would be for pinkie to crack in a case like this. And Twilight is just wildly gunning pinkies down left and right without a second thought. Even if it was just clones sent back and the real pinkie made it out its still unsettling. The clones were able to show enough intelligence to attempt to not die. And later in the series we see one that escaped and is trying to hide her identity to confirm they can fear for their lives. It’s kinda fucked up when you really cut into it.
