So this is how IDW ends. After successfully releasing over 200 issues, their 100th numbered issue milestone, and one final miniseries to completion.

Funny. Every couple weeks for the last…6 or so years I was told that this will be IDW’s undoing. That this will be the final issue. That this will be when they’re finally cancelled.

Instead what I got was IDW MLP living to a ripe old age, outliving the parent series it’s adapted from, and dying quietly and peacefully in its sleep as the next generation (pun intended) is passed off.

Oh yeah. So much to be mad about, bro. LOL

It’s been a long and rocky road with the IDW comics. Some were quite good, most were mediocre, and too many were bad enough that they should have never been published. If Image comics ends up doing a G4 series, I’ll check it out. I did often wonder how things might have been different if the MLP license had gone to another company.

Well this does pretty much disprove any belief that the comics were canon, when there were SOOOOOO many contradictions, plus bad art, many cases of stolen character designs, pretty much nothing form IDW comics will be shown in the series now, like ever. Pretty sure that everything is starting fresh with G5(A semi reboot) as this is thousands of years in the future, where Twilight and her friends are mere myths, so much so that they don’t even remember their names. Which makes the 100+ comics…..entirely pointless.

In the end, the comics were nothing more than glorified, official fanfiction, and that’s been the case since the very beginning.

IDW lined up the shots, but Hasbro was the one who was pulling the trigger.

And G5 has been a gigantic hit for Netflix and Hasbro, so of course they are going full G5
