I realised that, but it’s just so odd to see her like that again. Maybe she temporarily lost powers, since the dark forces are becoming stronger. Hopefully they will explain this matter in the next issue.

This might prove the temporariness of the lack of powers which could mean that she regains them in that very last issue. (somehow)

They are official and as close to canon as a comic can get. The first arc (1-4) was done by Katie Cook and Andy Price. This is from the first issue of the second arc (5-8) by Hather Nuhfer and Amy Mebberson. Then there’s the Micro-series, which has one issue for each of the Mane 6, by different artists and writers.

It’s between 2-3. The Mane 6 are far too familair with Luna for this to be set before Luna Eclipsed.

I was thinking about that too. I’ve no idea whether this issue takes place between season 1-2 or 2-3. If it’s 2-3 than this takes place after Secret of My Excess, so he might remind her about that day when she taught him about generosity and how much she means to him. However Luna’s s1 mane makes me doubt about that.
