Actually, didn’t the Smooze absorb the Rainbow of Light in the film, thus prompting Megan, Danny, Molly and four of the other ponies (Wind Whistler, Fizzy, Shady and Magic Star) to go to Flutter Valley and get the Flutter Ponies (the G1 equivalent of G3 and G4’s Breezies) to defeat it with…Flutter Pony magic (the only possible way I can explain it, might as well have been pixie dust or something)?

You think G1 was ultra saccharine? it really didn’t get any candy coatings til G3
G1 was considerably darker on average than G4 and tackled some pretty heavy issues
Were some solutions to this childrens show childish and nonsensical? Yeah duh G4 even falls into that the tagline is friendship is magic
