After being sick, I wanted something smaller to get me back into drawing, and I’ve been thinking my previous avatar needed an upgrade for a while. I drew it in…. spring 2018. ….Geez, that’s longer than I thought. Definetly time for an upgrade.
Though, seeing as the site apparently decided to implode notifications and people’s been talking about leaving, we’ll see how long I get to use it. I don’t think I’ll jump ship anytime soon, seeing as I tend to cling to the old and known until it falls apart in my hands. If many people I follow/interact with go somewhere else like Buzzly or wherever, then I’ll probably join them there, but I will still post here too. Just copy-pasteing should be simple enough. And in that case, I guess I’ll have a fancy new icon to use there :)
Anyway, with a new icon I decided to also make some changes to my alter-equine (Named Jackie because I’m unoriginal like that, in case you’re curious). In my previous avatar, I gave them the very small-muzzle-giant-eyes (aka the pug-pony look as I like to call it) as is my usual interpretation of the little ponies (because we’ve seen a horse in equestria girls, so we know little ponies look nothing like the real thing). And back then I had even smaller and squishier faces than I do now! And I have to say, I much prefer to give little horsies more… horsey muzzles nowadays. So, Jackie’s getting a nose-job. It also fits since their design is a fording, which is an actual breed which obviously has an actual horse-face. I also gave them a grey muzzle because fordings tend to have that and I’m not sure why I didn’t give them one in the first place. And finally, since I’d already decided to make them more horsey, I also changed their ears from my usual giant floofy pony-ones to just slightly more actual horse-like ones.
I also gave this avatar a background, because I wanted to. Featuring fireweed (in swedish they’re called mjölkört (milk herb) or rallarros (navigational engineer/railway-worker rose. …It’s from how they grow along train-tracks)) because it’s one of my favourite flowers and the pink is a nice constrast to the sky and Jackie’s coat color :)
Also, just realised this is my first deviation of 2022. Nice! New year, new me (-ish)! :D
