there will be that one asshole that will try to take copyright of the original characters made for the comic
“GASP! It’s gonna become the Sonic Comic!”
I wonder what it will look like in 20 years and 250 issues.
100 issues where sold at the wondercon and somone posted the whole thing in /mlp/.
First of all; Fuck you for bringing up Equestria Girls. Second of all; of course the characters aren’t drawn exactly the same, it’s a different medium, and what kind of ignoramus do you have to be to consider them entirely different characters just because they’re drawn slightly differently? Third of all; the stories are different for the same reason the art is different, the two mediums don’t work the exact same way. Fourth of all; yes, they’re behaving different, that’s the point of character development to see them develop from one mindset to another, or is every episode were some of the maiin cast acts noticeably at odds to how they’re usually protrayed also OOC and to be considered non-canon. If you personally prefer to think of the comics as alternate canon; fine, just don’t throw about such stupid and short-sighted “reasons” as to why you think that should be the case.
I dunno. Everything just seems so off. First of all the characters don’t even look like the characters in the show, they have black outlines and somewhat different bodies. The stories just don’t seem to fit in with the show either. Let’s be honest, do you think any of the stories from the comic would be made into episodes as they are without some changes? Moreover the characters just seem to OoC, thier personalities are exaggerated somewhat and the overall stories just don’t have the same feel as the show. As I said, I like to think of it as alternate canon as it’s quite obvious that the comic is made for a more adult audience (even though technically it is still for “little girls”) and the comics can be edgier than the show. Don’t get me wrong, I like the comic, but I don’t see it as fitting into the show, it’s more like an unrealated side story, much like the upcoming Equestria Girls spinoff.
Oh dear this again, as far as I’m concerned it’s canon until proven otherwise. And from where I stand it hasn’t been proven.
I guess making things transparent, like Luna’s season 2 hairstyle, might not be an option here.
Actually it would. Andy Price stated that its canon for him and considering that IDW is in contact with the Show writters so yeah…
I agree. I never counted the comic as canon. As good as it is, it’s just different and would not work with the show. I’d like to think of it as alternate canon as well even though I did hear somewhere the writers are trying to work in the comic into some episodes.
oh god they are in my immortal!!!
look out, you guys will be considered preps!
@Atticon
My brain hurts now…
Just gonna sing the MST3K Mantra and roll with it.
That and the fact that Spike already has the Fire Ruby, referencing that He already gave it to her..
It’s post S2 finale. If you’re talking about Luna’s S1 design, there’s a reason for that. The cover for #8 has her in S2 mode.
GASP! It’s gonna become the Sonic Comic!
Oh wait, that’s actually good. Nevermind!
No since before Luna Eclipsed all of them were scared of Luna. The reason of why her mane is like that its because she lost her powers, I can say that since She appears with her normal mane on Issue 8 cover.
From what I can surmise, it’s alternate canon.
