Welp, looks like either a spoiler for MYM or this is an alternate universe where Misty and Opaline have a goofy Yzma/Kronk relationship instead of an abusive parent-child relationship
I like this. Opaline is more appealing this way, and I feel better for Misty.

I think it is like the rest of Tell Your Tale where things are more turned down for the simple 3 min shorts and Make Your Mark is more serious with the 20 min eps relatively speaking. Also it is a Make Your Mark spoiler. She draws her own cutiemark on to fit in right before she meets Izzy at the start of episode 6.

It makes sense as between last week and this week Make Your Mark season 2 dropped which established her in Mareintime Bay as simultaneously being undercover for Opaline trying to steal magic for her and slowly succumbing to the magic of friendship which will make her redeemed once they actually find and overcome Opaline.
