-she was born a pegasus, and was orphaned at a very young age. After becoming an alicorn, Celestia took her in, and placed her in the care of one of her former students. -she became twilight’s foal sitter because she wanted to spend time with children, and felt that as a child herself, it was a good way to fulfill her duties as princess of love.
-her special talent is helping ponies find love within themselves, and uses it often to help young ponies struggling with their own self worth. the part of her cutie mark that goes down her leg shines like gold.
-has distant kin with the old crystal royal family, and this gave her claim to the throne in the crystal empire.
-is happily married to shining armor, though the two have welcomed many other ponies into their hearts and beds before. shining and cadence have four children together.
