This is the internet; everything gets taken seriously.

Having said that, yes, there are a lot of fans who get bent out of shape if an artist draws a humanized pony as any race other than non-Latino Caucasian. And there are a lot of artists who try to construct (sometimes convoluted) explanations for why they draw certain ponies as certain races when humanizing them. It’s all very silly, and occasionally a little racist.
