Having a calendar like this is the only explanation for all the timeline oddities in G4 (like Pound and Pumpkin remaining less than 5 despite twice as many winters happening) and years not existing due to the sun orbiting around the planet, and how day/night lengths are artificial constructs.

As for G5, there the elephant in the room regarding how day/night still work in the absence of magic control.
