She just wanted to brighten your day…with a bright blue flash (of Cherenkov radiation)! :D
And now everything tastes like nickel. Mmmm. 😋
@axxuy
IIRC, the criticality accidents are the fault of two physicists working at Los Alamos: Harry Daghlian and Louis Slotin. Both played fast & loose with the safety rules, as these were the “Wild West” days of nuclear weapon development, i.e. just after WWII. They were also the only ones to die as a direct result of the criticality accidents, that they themselves caused. Hence why a flat-blade screwdriver is usually seen somewhere in these Demon Core memes.
@aerion111
I saw someone go on a nice rant about this a while back. I don’t remember all of it but the point was the demon core was just a lump of metal. The real danger was the scientists’ recklessness.
I never get bored of demon core art, for some reason. Despite having a legitimate body-count, it’s just inherently funny.
I guess it’s because of how careless people were.
Like, there were mostly-innocent bystanders in at least one case, but the primary victims always… Maybe ‘deserved it’ is too strong, but ‘were flirting with death’ at the very least.
Plus, there’s some absurdity to it too. Like the surgery with a 300% mortality rate (patient, doctor (or assistant? I forget), and one random audience member who died of shock or something), except more verifiable.
Gotta say. Ja0822ck has some of the weirdest Pony art I have seen around in a while. And I love it.
And the only real comment that can be made to this is “Oh no”
