My reason for remaining religious in the face of science is the fact that, why the fuck not?
 
If there really is nothing more to the universe than the cold, bleak, pointless existence of science… why the hell does it matter if I spend a couple hours a week on something that gives me peace of mind?
 
I don’t shy away from the advancements of science, technology, society, etc because the bible yadda yadda what the fuck ever. I’m not going to force my beliefs down your throat. If there’s no divine forces involved, I can’t care, because I’ll simply cease to exist, believing that I’ll wake up in heaven and not having an existential crisis over it.
 
If it IS true (And I don’t really have any reason to believe that an omnipotent being couldn’t create a scientifically self-consistent universe that doesn’t have his artist’s signature writ like a giant fucking DeviantArt watermark all over it) however, I get eternal happiness in a world remade into a paradise while everyone who I and others don’t convince is stuck in uncomprehensible agony yet unable to die, also forever. Maybe that explains why some people are REALLY passionate about trying to convert you, atheists who may be reading this.
 
I honestly don’t know. There literally is no way to prove this stuff either way. If you’re right, we cease to exist and are unable to care either way, and if we’re right… sucks to be you, I guess. :T

I believe there is a God out there just not the one Religion speaks of.
 
And i’m not the kind of guy who goes into religious arguements everyday.

I don’t believe in gods and i despise religious people, but you will not see me annoying them about it. I have no right to do that. You can feel and think whatever you want, but you can’t say or do whatever you want.

People can insult religion and people who follow a religion. People can’t insult athiests.  
Does this sound fair? Of course it does. Religious people, like fat people, have inflicted their problems on themselves. It isn’t our job to fix you. Yes a good athiest does try to teach rather than insult, but we don’t have to. It should be YOU who realises your own mistakes. There is no such a thing as a good religion, or a religion that does good. You’re either a good person or a bad person, you’re either delusional or not delusional. I don’t care about the good or bad so much as the delusional part, as even good people can end up killing others over it. As does happen in christian run hospitals quite a bit.  
Also, beleiving in god and being religious is not the same. Religion and it’s rules is the evil.

Some people believe in (a) god(s),  
Some don’t.
 
Deal with it.
 
The problem is more about how you deal with your believe or not-believe with other people.
