Stop referring to her as a different character. All they did was put wings on her, they did not, and I repeat NOT change her personality. Besides, IDW’s comics are set BEFORE or DURING season 3 so it’s not going to do any good thinking they’ll change the continuity. If all you’re going to complain about is having her appearance changed well your logic fails in two ways. One, she still has her personality and why would she turn her backs on her friends when she wouldn’t get far without them. Not to mention they’re the ELEMENTS OF HARMONY INCARNATE! And two, most of the time, CHANGING A CHARACTER’S DESIGN DOESN’T CHANGE THE CHARACTER AS A WHOLE! That’s like complaining about Godzilla going Super mode in Super Godzilla. He may be more powerful but at the end of the day, he’s still Godzilla just gone god-mode. Or, if you want a more recent example, look at Optimus Prime in Beast Hunters, yeah he can fly now and he looks much beefier but it’s STILL Optimus. Wings. Don’t. Change. A. Character’s. Personality.

As long as Twilicorn never appears in the comics (with the possible exception of some kind of gag about the controversy), hopefully we’ll be golden even if Season 4 is ass.
 
I am pretty sure Twilicorn will never appear in the comics anyway. Bronies seeking refuge from it are a large part of the readership, and it’s not like they’ve got Hasbro looming over their shoulders making executive mandates. It’s just plain good business sense not to copy things from the show that are alienating lots of bronies.
 
If IDW remains thoughtful about the fandom in how they manage the license, we’ll probably be seeing the comic on store shelves for a long time after the show goes off the air. Part of what makes IDW great is that they are able to successfully capitalize on fandoms that are not being properly served by other companies, whether in the comics medium or in media at large.
