same guy as before,
yeah the guns in fallout 4 also make no sense, but the ones in new vegas are mostly on point as most of them are pretty good.
I recently started delving very deeply into historic tools and methods of doing things and one of those items was muskets. It reminded me very heavily of a musket as i noted in the previous post due to there being no way to load it outside of just loading right into the barrel.

I know literally nothing about guns lol so I just traced an in-game pic of the lever action rifle and merged it with a banjo lol considering how guns in Fallout are quite jank and cobbled together I thought it would fit quite well.

ngl it’s kinda funny that the gun looks like an old precussion lock musket (the one that everyone mistakes as a flintlock, but it actually uses a hammer instead of a flint and steel) that someone slapped a lever onto. Lever doesn’t actually work because if you pay attention there is no action on the weapon and the barrel is solid the whole way through.
Interestingly enough there appears to be at least 2 or even 3 barrels but only 1 hammer,so you could argue maybe you load each barrel and then the lever rotates it to the next loaded barrel like a revolver rifler type thing where instead of cylinders you just use whole barrels like a limited use slow firing gatling gun. It could reasonably be done with a breach action so it’d load like a double barrel shotgun, but rotate the barrels and fire more like a single shot breach loaded rifle with just a hint of inspiration from a rotary action.
This would be one heck of an exotic weapon after looking more in depth. the errors, with logic applied, can still make a viable gun and it would be a completely different take by someone totally original. it’s be a marvel of engineering and almost certainly a collectors piece.
