Same. Its all in more of a dark/grim atmosphere, than the cutey one of the show, but I’ve long pictured the Changelings to hatch as larva at first. And then, sort of as you said, grow into more of a filly/nymph form once they become the same age as pony fillies. And then from there, they grow more uniquely, depending on which class they are (peon, warrior, queen, etc.)

I am a staunchy advocate of Chrysalis having a wriggly caterpillar larval form before going into a pupae and turning into a nymph around the CMC’s age or older.
