Cars ‘n’ Ponies - Princess Cadence -> 28/09/23
So here’s a small drawing series that I had in mind since a while ago. The idea is simple: drawing cars with ponies whose names or characteristics match together. There are already some popular car puns with ponys like the Hyundai Sonata or the Škoda Octavia but I wanted to start my own series with this idea.
And here’s a bit of a bonus for you guys, I am a car guy since I have memory but I understand that some people might find all this a bit boring so I decided to give these drawings an extra to the formula: The car will have some visual curiosities and that will be combined in a Q&A lookalike with the owner of the car here in the description to make it more entertainable and maybe even enjoyable. So enough talking for me, let’s have a nice conversation with the princess of love herself, Princess Cadence! (Important note: If there are things that you may not like from all of this remember that this is obviously intended to be a parody only looking to be funny and/or entertaining):
Q: “Since when you own this car?”
A: “I’ve own this car since I was a young mare, more or less by the time I started babysitting Twilight. I just got my driving license and this beauty right here was one of the best, and overall cheap, options. The paintjob wasn’t this back then of course, I wanted to give it a personal touch and I painted it with the same colors as… well, me!”
Q: “That license plate is also different, right?”
A: “Yes. It was a whim of mine, I changed the license plate to this one that says ‘L0V3 XPRT’ and it means ‘Love expert’, nothing of bragging of course, jeje.”
Q: “Speaking of whims, you like to add a bit of your style on the car judging by all of these heart shapes.”
A: “Indeed. As the princess of love, I like to give that same essence to the car I drive everyday so I put some heart shape stickers on some parts of the car and for the mirror I made a pair of cards for me, the ace of hearts, and for my husband, a made up ace of shields, to represent our own love too.”
Q: “It also looks like this car has seen better days don’t you think?”
A: “Oh… y-yeah. This car is a bit too old and on top of that I am a bit bad at parking specially here at the Crystal Empire with all the traffic. That’s why my husband is usually the one who parks the car when we go for a ride.”
Q: “Why is that fender in a different color than the rest of the car?”
A: “The car suffered an accident when me and my husband went to a Wonderbolts exhibition. Basically one of the crew members lost the control and crashed into our car but fortunately nothing serious happened but the car needed some repairs. So I searched for some spare parts and I found a kind stallion who had the same car model and gave me that fender. I don’t quite remember his name but I remember his nickname… ‘Captain Slow’ or something like that. Apparently his car was part of a TV show too. And since then I didn’t have the time to paint that part like the rest of the car so that’s why.”
Q: “Nice funny sticker on the door. What’s the story?”
A: “Basically it was one of my husband’s jokes. When we went to Manehattan for shopping some time ago he saw that sticker on a showcase of souvenirs and he found it funny so he bought it as a ‘gift’ for me and we put it on the side of the car. The worst of all of this is that the sticker is kind of right jaja.”
Q: “Aw that’s a cute drawing you have on your back door.”
A: “It really is. It was a drawing my dear Twilight did when she was a little filly and I was babysitting her. I lost sight of her for a moment and she had gone out with a marker and I caught her painting that, far from getting angry I found the drawing so cute that I decided to let it there. Unfortunately the time passes and the drawing is a bit erased but at least it’s still visible to remind me of the love and affection I have with my lovely sister-in-law”
Q: “And being a high-class mare you’ve never though of changing to a maybe more luxurious car or something similar?”
A: “I though it many times but I always come with the same conclusion. This car represents all I am and that mixed with all the good and sweet memories I have with it… I just don’t want to change it. Besides, I am not that type of high-class mare who wears and buys all type of fancy things despite being like that in front of my kingdom.”
(Btw if you know good ‘ol Top Gear from 2002-2015 you maybe catched that reference I put with this car ;P)
(And yes, I know this car was supposed to get wrecked almost instantly after you bought it in it’s era but let’s just imagine that this was the ultimate Austin Princess xD)

Seems pretty good, pal. I’ll write down all these ideas ^^
I wanna introdyce my solusion. Princess Cadance loves her favourite car Austin princess. Queen Chrisalis had to use chrysler. If there was opportunity to replace princess cadance, Chrysalis to show her new status decided to buy a kia cadenza, which was suitable for her name Mi Amora Cadenza as she ordered to call her. Real Cadance would never allow to replace her beloved car.
Dictator matches for Sombra in my opinion
Oof, I never thought about how similar “Chrysalis” and “Chrysler” sounded. Good point on that, pal. Now that you mention I read the other day an article for weird and/or best car names in history looking for inspiration and speaking of Queen Chrysalis I found a car named “Dictator” by Studebaker. It might suit her as well ;P
Let me unspoiler that; Queen Chrysalis, right? But don’t give her a Cadenza, there’s actually one brand that actually fits her.

Wow, 2015. Almost as much time as myself becoming brony in 2014. As for the Cadenza I wish I would’ve known that car before but don’t worry friend. I have an idea with that car as well ^^ (Spoiler: It involves certain changeling queen in disguise ;P)
The Ford Fiesta would be matched with Pinkie because… well, I think it’s pretty obvious, Fiesta (Spanish) -> Party (English) ^^. The only thing left would be the generation of the car because it has been made from the 70s to this year. But we will see

I’ve been always associated Princess Cadance with the Kia Cadenza as her personal car since I first discovered the pun way back when I got into the fandom in 2015, that year when Equestria Girls: Friendship Games was still buzzing. As of today, that’s still on my commitment.

Oof, I gotta admit, I didn’t know about that car. I know a few KIAs but I didn’t know that there was one called “Cadenza”. Now I feel that all this work went down the drain 😅. I wish I went on a different princess for the Austin Princess but now I can only wait to do better in the future

The original 60’s Octavias are definitely super pretty cars
As an insane Škoda enthusiast, another Octavia + Octavia drawing would be lovely to see, hehe~~

I’m glad I’m not the only one with this idea but since I watched that old episode from Top Gear with the British Leylands a few years ago I’ve wanted to draw it and I chose Cadence because I don’t know why but I kinda liked her the most for this idea ^^. Greetings, pal!
