Cant she not, like, cast the spell she did with the Damn on MMDW ep?

She’s got a lot of options solely using her imagination. But knowing the background of Twilight that traditionally follow the rules step-by-step renders her powerless to effectively deal a a new situation w/o the aid of references(books), in hindsight its rather a disadvantage that might/may cost a lot.
