I asked the question as directly as possible with the meaning “for what reason do the characters have exactly this skin tone?” (please note that initially, instead of the words “dark shades” it was just “black”, but it seemed wrong to me).

Probably, it’s you who need to grow up if you see some kind of subtext in the simple question “why is this so?”
For example, I have a different view of how these characters might look like in the guise of people and the reasons for such a view. The view of this artist is different from mine and I wonder what led to this, without any hidden intent.
