I think they were refering to how both Shining and Flash both have “dude-bro” personalities, are both (or were) in the royal guard, share similar names, similar hair and eye color, cutie marks, etc.

the two tone backward swept hair implies wonderbolt, while shining has flat three tone hair. he has tan skin, which judging by the other character’s skin tones would mean his pony counterpart would have an orange coat, not white. thirdly, his symbol on his shirt most likely corresponds to his counterparts mark, which looks like an old paratrooper unit badge I’ve seen before, which like the hair implies pegasus. also shining is one of those ‘mac sized’ colts, bigger than average, while this guy only looks taller i suspect because of twi’s pose.

Sounds like a brother complex to me.

That might be kind of funny– Sunset Shimmer is basically an bitchier version of Twilight Sparkle, and just so happens to have a brother who is extremely similar to Shining Armor. The incestuous overtones would be kind of hilarious.

How does blue hair and eyes equal shining armor? He looks NOTHINg like him in any way. Thats like saying pony x and y are related because they have similar color schemes.
