I mean I don’t think he’d have a reason to keep the build after over like 100 years and losing all of his friends (aside from maybe Smolder or Ember) would probably put him into some form of depression causing him to lose the build in general plus he’d have no reason for the sash thing either given twilights friendship is magic efforts were in vain

It would’ve made sense for Twilight to be alive too but it’s pretty ambiguous what happened to her. Seeing as Twilight became an Alicorn she technically wouldn’t be dead by old age if Celestia showed no signs of aging from her time and when she saw 1000 years into the past.
I know people do like to point to Meghan McCarthy’s “Twilight won’t outlive her friends” tweet, which aged poorly even back then seeing as she tweeted that right after Season 3 and we find out later that Alicorns have insanely long lifespans if not unable to die of old age.
Most likely thing is either Twilight was killed during the time gap somehow or she is still around somewhere but uninvolved now.

Well, i wasn’t around the fandom during seasons 1 and 2, by the time i fully joined the fandom (after season 3), everyone just had the same idea that twilight would outlive her friends (which apparently included spike) and how depressing that would be.
