Don’t get a beats! They are overprices and the plastic that they use are somewhat cheap and break quite easily. Sure, the sound quality is alright, but you can find better cheaper headphones. Go for the Sony MDR XB 500 or 700s. They are much cheaper, more comfortable, and amazing sound quality! And if you want Bass they are great for that too, check out some reviews on them. Yes, they are overpriced. If they were $100, then they would be praised. But because of their popularity, celebrity endorsements, and Dr. Dre (who still hasn’t released Detox), they are expensive. The Pros are $400.
They are pretty good for casual listening and DJing. Yes, DJs do use them. I wouldn’t recommend them for studio use. You could get some HD800s (which cost more then $1000), ar some M50s.

People say they are bad? I just hear they are overpriced.
Actually, they’re not as bad as everyone says they are. Then again, maybe it’s because I listen to a lot of bass heavy music (hip-hop, dubstep, drum-n-bass etc), so they work for me. I got them for $90 because I had a warranty on another pair of headphones that broke, so I got a discount at Best Buy. I also have a pair of Beats Tours for workouts. Those suck, though. I would rather get a pair of Klipsch S4i’s if I could find them.
