Fair enough. I haven’t played that much STO (though I’d like to play more), and have mainly been working from the technical manuals regarding ship-types and roles.

You seem to have gotten your specs switched up. The Intrepids were the long range vessels, while the Nova classes were mostly planetary survey ships. They even call the Intrepid and it’s variants the Long Range Science Vessel in STO.
Kimsteed

The Intrepid-class was designed for long-term exploration missions. At less than half the size of a Galaxy-class starship, it was considered “quick and smart.” You also have to assume that plenty were built because of the Dominion war, but only two are ever named, USS Voyager and USS Bellerophon.

The Nova Class is designed for short-term planetary research missions. A few of those got named to, most everyone who watched Voyager remembers the USS Nova. My Nerdy ass speculation thinks the Nova class was meant to replace the aging Oberth Class, another science vessel that had been in service for like 80 years.

But that’s enough of my embarrassing amount of Star Trek knowledge, Nice Pic, Twilight the Vulcan makes a scary amount of sense.

Ok, we may be viewing things from different canons, but the Nova-class science vessel is for exploration, and the Intrepid-class, while versatile, is only designed for short, specific missions…at least that’s what I got from the technical books and the shows.

The Nova-class is designed as a short-range, short-term survey/scout vessel; I had Twilight pegged as more of an explorer. Considering that the Intrepid-class is the most versatile ship in the fleet with the condensed features of a Galaxy, it would be perfect for her.

Then she’ll have to court-martial-via-airlock Pinkie for nearly causing a cheese-pocalypse (or at least that should happen)

Anyway, I thought Twilight would be more suited to a Nova-class, given her academic background. She could even invent an engine that goes to infinity, or baring that, an engine that burns sentient beings alive for major speed boosts…
