Makes sense. Since Sunset Shimmer is basically like an alternate version of Twilight Sparkle, she could have a brother who is an alt version of Shining Armor, although from what we’ve seen Shining Armor and “Flash Sentry” are a lot more similar than Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer. Brad and SS have similar skintone, too.
 
Although, Twilight’s love interest being the brother of the alpha bitch seems less likely than if he is the alpha bitch’s ex or unrequited interest, because then Hasbro can show them getting catty over which one he’ll take to the prom.

Flash Sentry, really, I’m still calling him milquetoast. Also with everyone suspecting him being a love in interest it becomes really creepy that he looks and will have the same voice actor as Twilight’s brother. Maybe he will just be a friend.

Seriously, he’s right there in the credit as having voiced royal guards. There’s a yellow/blue royal guard in the trailer, conveeeeniently obscured even though he’s prominent in the frame. Unecessary Love Interest is a royal guard who gets a promotion from Background Pony to Plot Device.
